As the Chevrolet Cruze approaches its official on-sale date, we see that review crawling back up the charts, now at No. 5. We have no new introductions to the top 10 this week, but two vehicles return: the 2011 Honda CR-Z and 2010 Honda CR-V, which bumped off the 2010 Buick LaCrosse and 2011 Porsche Cayenne for now.

Longtime Cars.com fans might remember when I bought a 1979 Fiat Spider from Tom “Click” Magliozzi, co-host of “Car Talk” on National Public Radio. Well, now that car is up for auction on Cars.com through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program. All net proceeds will go to WBEZ, Chicago’s NPR affiliate. Take a look at the Fiat feature on cartalk.com for some history, in photos and in video. Or just go directly to the listing.

Below you can see my video tour of the heap – a lovable heap, but a heap nonetheless.

Our most popular story is about the explosion that happened at an airport’s hydrogen station, raising concerns about using hydrogen as an alternative fuel. Going into Labor Day weekend, our list of 10 financing deals for the holiday comes in at No. 2. The end of the month means another list of the top 10 best-selling cars, which lands at No.3. Rounding out the top five are the recall of the Pontiac Vibe, which complements an earlier Toyota recall, and our first look at the 2011 VW Jetta.

The Cruze is larger, more comfortable and more refined than its predecessor, but you get what you pay for, and the Cruze’s price tag might be higher than what some might be willing to pay for a small car.

Yesterday, we brought you a first look of the redesigned Dodge Durango. After chatting with Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of the Dodge brand, we have a few more nuggets of information on Dodge's newest SUV.

All of the Durango images Dodge released feature a chrome-clad cross-hair grille. In total, there will be three different grilles offered when the SUV hits dealerships late this year. Gilles wouldn't confirm whether a body-colored grille will be offered, though that seems like a possibility, but he did say the chrome one is the top-of-the-line offering.

Dodge released a single interior photo of the Durango's steering wheel with what appeared to be a new Dodge emblem. Gilles says the logo is ornamentation meant only for the steering wheel, and it's intended to be "an abstraction of the grille of the vehicle."

Dodge has adopted some colorful trim names for its models. Case in point is the Nitro SUV, which is available in Heat, Detonator and Shock forms. It looks like the Durango will also have distinctive trim names, one of which will be Citadel. Gilles said the other trims will be revealed soon.

Gilles wouldn't say whether a high-performance SRT version of the Durango is in the works, but he also didn't completely dash the hopes of performance-SUV enthusiasts. "We're going to have fun with this platform. There's a lot we can do," he said.

If you're in Virginia Beach, Va., this weekend you'll be able to see the 2011 Durango for yourself. Dodge is one of the sponsors of the Rock 'n' Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon, and the Durango will both pace the race and be on hand during the event. It's the first time the SUV will be on public display. If you have a chance to get an up-close look — especially of the Durango's interior — let us know what you think of it in the comment section below.

Under certain conditions, the heat created by the engine can cause possible deformations of the rear right and left wheel wells. When this happens the wells themselves can deform close enough to the exhaust system to cause the bonding adhesives to ignite, resulting in a vehicle fire or crash.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified this month. Ferrari dealerships will remove the existing heat shields and bounding adhesives and install new protective heat shields free of charge. Owners can contact Ferrari at 201-816-2600 or NHTSA's hot line at 888-327-4236.

Ferrari says that it received information regarding a possible fire on one of its 458 Italias in August. The automotive community has known about the Ferrari fires for some time, via Jalopnik’s coverage, but that’s not to say that each reported incident there is related to this recall.

“JP2000” from Irvine, Calif., seems to be one of the few readers who genuinely appreciate the polarizing design of the 2010 Acura TL. Up until this point, he had stacked up 15 years owning and driving German-designed cars. Before he bought the TL, JP2000 looked closely at buying the Audis, BMWs, Mercedes and Volkswagens he has grown accustomed to. Only the Volkswagen CC came close to consideration, but ultimately this reader bought the TL and has been “absolutely delighted” ever since. Continue reading to find out why. Once you’re done with that, you can write about your own review here.

“I applaud Acura for finally taking the lead with a fresh, bold design for the '09/'10 TL. The last-gen TL was a great car, but I didn't care much for its Plain Jane exterior styling. The new TL's styling, in contrast, is simply brilliant inside and out. The ride is remarkably quiet and controlled (even on rough roads), the steering is precise, and there is plenty of low-end torque.

“Inside, the large high-res navigation system with rearview camera, the keyless entry system, the dazzling sound of the HDD-based ELS system and the premium leather seats (all of which come with the Tech Package at a bargain price) bring the car's substance on par with its stunning looks. Now, add to this Acura's legendary reliability and resale value, and you have a car that’s second to none in its segment.

“In the last 15 years, I had only driven German cars. Before buying the TL, I took a close look at the Audi A4, BMW 535xi, VW CC VR6, MB C300 and Infiniti G37x. In this group, the only close contender for the TL (with the Tech Package) was the VW CC VR6, but only for those who can live with its two- seater rear arrangement! So, all things considered, my final analysis led me straight to the TL. And I'm absolutely delighted!”

The redesigned 2010 Lexus GX 460 was initially marred by a poor handling issue that briefly halted sales. With that problem fixed, the GX is selling well, so Cars.com senior editor David Thomas got behind the wheel to see what all the fuss is about. Apparently, there’s a lot to fuss over, and it’s not good – ranging from inadequate passenger space, interior design gaffes and a mediocre ride quality. Despite the flaws, can the Lexus outshine its competitors at its price premium? Watch the video to find out.
